BIO

   Ona Kirei (she/her) is a vocalist, composer, and arranger from Barcelona, and is currently living and working in the Tampa Bay Area.

 

   Ona has been awarded with several awards such as the first place in the International Talavera Jazz Contest, and first place in ‘Actúa!’, a music competition as part of the Spanish national radio station ‘Cadena Ser’.

 

   She has performed across Europe in countries such as Spain, France, and the UK, as well as important European festivals including the Getxo Jazz Festival (Getxo, Spain) and the Jazz Ladies Festival (Bourdeaux, France). Ona can also be heard in the Tampa Bay Area and Orlando in venues like Pilars Martini (Winter Garden) and the Palladium (St. Petersburg) singing with some of the most notable musicians on the scene.

 

   Ona has also been known as a bandleader since 2012, with two albums released under her name. Her album ‘Un Hogar’ was sold out in the 2016 ‘Heineken Jazzaldia’ Jazz Festival in Donostia - San Sebastian,.

 

Iberia’ is one of the projects from Ona Kirei: a fusion jazz tribute to her native land. Orilla”  is a duo project with bass player Alejandro Arenas,. You will also see her playing with Pablo Arencibia on piano, as well as involved in several collaborations with the best musicians in the Tampa Bay Area like La lucha or James Suggs.

She is currently working on releasing her personal project, entirely made by her original compositions.
